The Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN) is an exciting new collaborative aimed at building STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) teaching and learning capacity in regions across the State of Ohio. Newly emerging, the OSLN is designed to thrive with an ever-expanding base of committed regional partners, which serve as the life-blood of the Network. At its core, the OSLN is focused on student and teacher success. And this success, particularly for STEM-education, requires a robust slate of committed partners including Pre-K-12 education, higher education and business – all whom will work hand-in-hand through this network to share innovations and best practices. The OSLN will create platforms – not models – for schools that will be tailored to the needs of its regional partners. ALL are welcomed to become members of the Network.
The OSLN includes a number of private investors from Ohio and the nation, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with a $12 million investment, and Battelle, with a $2.8 million investment. These dollars will be leveraged against an additional $12 million in state resources, dedicated to the establishment of STEM "Schools" and "Programs of Excellence."
